SWAMI PRAGYAMURTI SARASWATI

Swami Pragyamurti started teaching in 1971 at her house in Clapham South, London. She is the founder of the Satyananda Yoga Centre London; a truly special place and spiritual home of dedicated students. Her unique no-nonsense, consistent and off the mat style has led her to teach yoga in prison. She believes that yoga is a great way to improve the quality of life of the inmates. Her book Yoga Manual for Prisoners and other Castaways is a compilation of inspiring yoga sequences to lift the spirits of people from all walks of life. She travels to South Africa and works with people living with HIV/AIDS. Swami Pragyamurti’s devotion for Yoga  is contagious, she is a living  example of someone who has managed to have a big family life and a grounded spiritual practice in the midst of a buzzing city.
